This year's RI Theme is
"Rotary Shares." 

What a perfect theme for a year when I will be challenging all of you to share more of yourselves with Rotary.  My challenge for all of us is to "be a better Rotarian" this year.  I'm going to let you choose how you do that.
Maybe you will choose to have better attendance this year, maybe you'll volunteer
for a position you've never had before, maybe you'll call me up and say
"Hey, what can I do to help the district," maybe you've never given to The
Rotary Foundation and this is your first year, maybe this is the year you
invest $1000 and become a Paul Harris Fellow, or maybe you'll decide to go
to Haiti and work on the District's Safe Water project.  Whatever you
choose, I challenge you to decide today, how you're going to be a better
Rotarian this year.  Don't think it won't make a difference.  If all 3000
Rotarians in our little district in the middle of Minnesota all decide to
make one small change to be a better Rotarian, I promise you, it will make a
difference!

Many of you have asked if we will be having a district theme for the year.
I thought of many worthy, upstanding, inspirational themes, but none of them
moved me as much as the simple theme:

Rotary Rocks!  

And so it shall be---our district's theme for the year, "Rotary Rocks!"

Indeed it does!  Let's make it a great year!
